A calming sunset after the storm… An autumn sunset was seen after our area had received some light rain and drizzle earlier.  There were pretty nice crepuscular rays!  Pic taken from around San Jose, CA.  Temps actually had fluctuated this day with highs reaching up into the 70s for our area during late morning (yes, morning!), but then cooled down a bit as cloudy, showery, drizzly weather came into the area during the early afternoon hours.  It was all due to a passing weakening frontal system.  A frontal system was moving onto the state this day.  Rain showers had spread across the north state.  By late Wednesday and Thursday, another weak system was forecast to move across the north state with more showers and then on Friday a stronger low pressure trough and frontal system was to move though bringing rain to the entire area… (Monday around sunset, October 20, 2014; 6:11 p.m.)
